CHEAMOTHERAPHY OF TUBERCULOSIS


Tuberculosis is a diffcult  disease to treat the reasons are tubercle bacilli grow slowly,dividing once in 1 to 2 days .it leads to the organisms are tend to develop resistence to the chemotherapuetic agents and multi drug resistent (MDR) bacilli are will rise .
                                                                  generally  tuberculosis disease is treated by using first line drugs and second line drugs ..both first and second line drugs are devided by 2 types .one is bactericidal n another one is bacteriostatic.
1.firstline drugs:
bactercidal:
 example drugs;    isonicotinic acid hydrazide,sreptomycin and rifampcin
bacteriostatic:      etahmbutol and thiacetazone
2.second line drugs:
bactercidal:      fluoroquilones ,capreomycin and kannamycin
bactereocidal:   ethionamide,cyclosterine and clofazimine
